    “Otis Redding was at the pinnacle of his career at that time. He was booked as the closing act on the Saturday night of the festival, June 17, 1967. The tour helped Otis gain popularity in the white youth record market of that time, particularly since the Monterey show was attended by so many people from the U.S. music business. Otis died less than 6 months later.”
